Apo Island!

Apo Island is a volcanic island covering 12 hectares in land area, 7 kilometers off the southeastern tip of Negros Island and 30 kilometers south of the Negros Oriental capital of Dumaguete City in the Philippines.
The marine habitat around the island is a marine reserve, protected by the National Integrated Protected Area Act (NIPA) and under the jurisdiction of the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB). It has become a popular dive site and snorkeling destination with tourists. There are two resorts on Apo Island, both of which have their own dive centers: Apo Island Beach Resort and Liberty's Lodge. There is a ranger station and a lighthouse.

Another Island hopping adventure!! :D Here comes the Apo Island.
The ride over to Apo Island from Zamboanguita is around 45 minutes and it is usually a bit wet, so make sure you have your camera etc. wrapped up to protect it from the sea water.

Once you arrive on Apo Island, you have to go to the registration office on the beach there where you register your party and pay the Apo Island Sanctuary fees, these fees are going to the local people on Apo island to help them keep the island interesting for tourists, both for cleaning up the place and keeping everything on the island working but also for supporting the people that can not make a living fishing because of the sanctuary status.

And the most exciting part of all.....SNORKLING!!! :D
Too bad we dont have underwater camera. Ive seen a LOT of underwater lovely creatures. First time in my life to sea that kind of underwater experience. Lots of corals, fishes, sea snakes, sea urchins, even turtles!

We also had some photoshoots.

Another great day had passed. And my experience in Apo Island is unforgettable. :)

Calaguas Island!

The Calaguas is a group of islands in the Philippine province of Camarines Norte. It includes the following islands:

          Major
               Tinaga Island
               Guintinua Island
          Minor
               Maculabo Island

and several other minor islands.

Most of the islands are under the administrative jurisdiction of Vinzons, Camarines Norte while the minor island of Maculabo is under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Paracale, Camarines Norte. Recently, the island of Tinaga where the famous long beach called Mahabang Buhangin is located is experiencing influx of tourists in the area despite the absence of accommodation. Campers and backpackers are coming and going daily to experience its powdery white sands.

Calaguas Island

We had an almost 2 hours boat ride from the city before reaching the Calaguas Island..
But that long ride has been paid off by the time we reached the island. It was so beautiful! The water is sooo crystal clear. It was like your looking under a white tiled swimming pool.
This place is so perfect for relaxing after several days of stress at work. Unfortunately, our celphone signals were all dead. It is too far to grasp some network.

Maculabo Island

is an island which belongs to the Calaguas group of islands in Camarines Norte province. Although part of the Calaguas group, the island is under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Paracale, Camarines Norte. The island serves as a major stop-over going to Tinaga Island where the famous long beach "Mahabang Buhangin" is located. The island is about four kilometers long.

After our trip at Calaguas Island, we had a small time to visit this very clean, peaceful and wonderful Maculabo Island since it is just near the Calaguas Island.
I'm missing this place so much. Hope I could go back here. :)
